Santa Clarita city officials on Tuesday presented a big check – a really big check – to the SCV Committee on Aging, the nonrprofit organization that runs the SCV Senior Center and senior residential facilities throughout the valley.
The $611,080 check represents a combination of city general fund, transit and federal Community Development Block Grant moneys that will help the organization provide support services to more than 35,000 local seniors and functionally impaired adults.
Among the serves are transportation including Dial-A-Ride and local bus service, recreational wellness and personal development classes, a handy worker program to help seniors with home repairs, a home-delivered meals program, and other and health and wellness programs.
