The city of Santa Clarita Arts and Events Office is seeking art entries for an exhibit that will feature a variety of art addressing the theme of numbers, math, and rocket science. This exhibit will be featured in the First Floor Gallery at Santa Clarita City Hall and is open to artists located in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
The Arts and Events Office is seeking art for an upcoming exhibit titled “It’s all in the Numbers.” This exhibition will be displayed in conjunction with the cities “One Story One City” program, which is presented by the Santa Clarita Libraries. The book for 2017 is ”Rise of the Rocket Girls.” It tells the story of the women who served as “human computers” for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). The exhibit will be on display from March 1, 2017 to March 31, 2017.
Those interested in submitting their art must keep in mind the following timeline.
January 15, 2017: Art submission deadline
January 20, 2017: Selection of art
February 15, 2017: Artwork label information to the Arts and Events Office
March 1, 2017: Art drop off
The city of Santa Clarita’s Arts and Events Office, and the City of Santa Clarita’s Arts Commission reserve the right to change the project timeline.

The project is open to all artists, regardless of race, color, religion, natural origin, gender, age, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental disability. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines.
