The city of Santa Clarita Arts and Events division is currently seeking proposals for solo exhibits for 2018 in the gallery space at The MAIN, the City’s newest arts venue in Old Town Newhall.
Established and emerging visual artists/creatives are encouraged to apply. All visual arts media are eligible for consideration. Selected artists will exhibit their work for the duration of one month. The art pieces will be displayed in the gallery space at The MAIN, where events such as Note by Note and 10 by 10 are hosted, as well as Comedy Mashup, The Society Improv and other entertainment. Each month’s exhibit will be available for viewing during all events as well as Tuesday through Friday from 1-5 pm.
Eligibility
Solo exhibits at The MAIN are open to all artists 18 years or older. Proposals may only be submitted by individual artists. Selected artists must be able to display 15-23 pieces with a maximum size limit of 60″ x 60″. There is no specific theme for the submitted art pieces. The art pieces must be the original work of the entrant. All entries must be submitted electronically and entrants must complete the entry form in its entirety to qualify. Entries may only be submitted by an individual; no team entries are permitted. Eligible individuals may enter only during the designated submission dates. All entries must be received no later than the end of the entry date.

Dec. 8 – Jan. 22, 2018.
Selection Process
Submissions will be juried by the Artist Selection Committee on originality, creativity, and artistic quality. Art pieces containing profanity, vulgarity or offensive material will be disqualified. All decisions made by the Artist Selection Committee are final.
Notification
Invited artists will be notified by email in February 2018 with further information on exhibit month/dates, hanging methods, photos of the gallery, etc.
Promotion
All exhibitions are promoted through The City of Santa Clarita and the Art and Events division, through local press releases, websites, social media announcements and community calendars, email announcements, and through printed exhibition postcards.
Privacy Policy
The City collects personal information for the purpose of notifying selected artists only. All information submitted is confidential, used solely for notification purposes and will not be made public. The City does not lease, sell, or share personal information.
