It may not be fun to pay your property taxes, but it’s now a lot easier, thanks to a major overhaul of the Los Angeles County Treasurer and Tax Collector’s website that the department unveiled Friday.

The site features enhancements that provide a simplified, easy-to-understand and engaging experience in which the public can find important information easily and help themselves without having to call, email or write us.

The new website responds to the public’s needs by creating a refreshed look and feel, by consolidating onto the main page the top 5 most requested services, by revising content using everyday language, and by making more self-service options available on the web so that constituents can help themselves at times that are convenient for them and avoid what can be long wait times in our call center.

The website also allows the public to browse on the device of their choice: computer, tablet or mobile phone.

“We redesigned the site with our constituents in mind, analyzing historic usage statistics and reviewing constituent feedback provided to us in website surveys. We improved the web experience for faster results utilizing new technology, streamlined the functionality, and expanded the self-service options available on the website. This redesigned website is the best that it has ever been.”

The site contains the following self-service options, all developed with the public – our constituents – in mind.

2. Establish an account in our Property Tax Management System here.

3. Request a penalty cancellation here.

4. Request a duplicate Secured (Real) Property Tax bill here.

5. Look up the payment history of Secured (Real) taxes paid on a property here.

6. Subscribe to receive notices from us, including a reminder of payment delinquency dates here.
