Here is the Castaic-Val Verde (Zone 2) Crime Information & Public Safety report from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station for September 25 through October 1, 2017:
10-5-17
Arson – 30000 block of San Martinez Road
The fire department responded to a vehicle fire in a dirt lot. The cause of the fire was suspicious in nature. Deputies responded and found no plates or vehicle identification number on the vehicle. Detectives are investigating the incident.
10-9-17
Commercial Burglary – 27000 block of Sloan Canyon
The front glass door the business was shattered and the door frame was pried open. The suspects targeted the pharmacy in the rear of the store. It is unsure what, if anything was taken, however, security cameras caught the suspects exiting the store a short time later with nothing in their hands.
10-8-17
Theft – 29000 block of Cromwell Avenue
The victim reported that two saws and a drill were taken from a construction site at the location. Surveillance cameras caught the suspects in the act of the crime. Station detectives are handling the case.
