Castaic/Val Verde: Public Safety and Crime Information Report for 05/09/16 to 05/14/16
The following crimes were reported last week in Castaic / Val Verde (Zone 2):
5/9/16
Grand Theft Auto- 28000 block of Avenue Sherman.
The victim reported his black flatbed trailer was stolen in the early morning hours. The trailer was loaded with (3) off-road vehicles.
5/10/16
Theft- 32000 block of Emerald Lane.
The victim reported a black “Trek” was bicycle stolen from their open garage. The crime occurred during daytime hours.
5/11/16
Theft- 27000 block of Sloan Canyon.
The kiosk that rents video games and movies was broken into. Over 100 video games and movies were stolen.
5/12/16
Theft- 28000 block of Chiquito Canyon.
The victim reported their purebred dog was stolen. Deputies responded to the location and after a short investigation identified a suspect. An arrest was made and the dog was returned to its rightful owner.
5/14/16
Grand Theft Auto- 29000 block of Cambridge Avenue.
The victim’s blue Toyota Camry was stolen from the location. The owner said the vehicle was locked at the time of the incident. The crime occurred during the early morning hours.
Please remember to never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity.
