The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, will kick off September with a sensational lineup of free live performances, talks, activities and more on Main Street in Old Town Newhall.

From 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on September 1, JAM Sessions, hosted by the Ford Theatre Foundation, will bring dancing and live performances to the Old Town Newhall Library, located at 24500 Main Street. The September JAM Session will feature the Rueda de Casino as urban Latin dance theatre company CONTRA-TIEMPO leads an exploration of Cuban salsa. At 8:00 p.m. residents can practice their moves during a live concert from Viento Callejero.

Meanwhile on September 1 at 7:00 p.m., at the Repertory East Playhouse, located at 24266 Main Street, ten performers will take the stage for ten minutes each and share their live theatre pieces, dances, monologues or music at 10 by 10. The night includes unique musician The New Mexican, standup comic act Diani and Devine, music by GRIT, the short film “Consomme,”poetry from Golden Pen Writer’s Guild, magic by Scott Marshall, comedian Mike Citera, comedic duo The Brother Monkeys, storytelling by Victoria Sayeg and music from Nick Goodman.

From 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on September 8, the Revved Up car show, presented by State Farm, will feature Lowriders. Visitors can enjoy a live band, food trucks and adult beverages provided by Persia Lounge. Local residents interested in submitting an automobile for Revved Up can apply online.

Also on September 8 beginning at 7:00 p.m., local songwriters will perform their original work at Note by Note in the Newhall Refinery, located at 24258 Main Street. Performers interested in Note by Note can apply online.

SENSES block party will rock Main Street from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on September 15 with an Electro Glo dance party. Residents can enjoy DJs playing electronic music, lightshows and glowsticks while grabbing grub from gourmet food trucks and the on-street bar.

Thursdays@Newhall’s September events conclude with the SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series and ARTree Speaker Series on September 22.

From 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on September 22, the ARTree Speaker Series, presented in partnership with the CalArts Community Arts Partnership and the City of Santa Clarita, will take place at the Old Town Newhall Library.

At 7:00 p.m. at the Repertory East Playhouse, SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series will host Western performer Eli Barsi. Interested attendees can reserve tickets here.

JAM Session & Concert

Thursday, September 1, 7:00 – 9:30 p.m.
Dance the Rueda de Casino! Urban Latin dance theatre company CONTRA-TIEMPO will lead an exploration of this fun social dance, a Cuban form of salsa danced in a circle. Leave inspired, engaged and better at communicating through movement!

After the JAM, practice your new dance steps and stay for a free concert at 8:00 PM featuring Viento Callejero.

10 by 10: Variety Night

Thursday, September 1, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.
10 by 10 is a variety night giving performers a chance to take the stage and perform for a live audience.  Each month, ten performers are selected to perform a 10-minute piece consisting of short live theatre pieces, dance, film, stand-up, storytelling, and some music.
All types of art forms are accepted, you never know what you’re going to see!

Revved Up

Thursday, September 8, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Whether you roll a static drop or hit the switches for bags or hydraulics, come down and show it off at the free Lowrider Revved Up car show on Main Street Thursday, September 8, starting at 7:00 pm.  Enjoy the live music, food trucks and adult beverages as you stroll around Old Town Newhall.

Note by Note: Songwriters Night

Thursday, September 8, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.
NOTE by NOTE songwriter’s night is a chance for professional and aspiring songwriters to showcase their songs in front of a live audience and an opportunity for fans to hear new music. Each songwriter selected will perform four original songs of their own composition.

Thursday, September 15, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Join in the Electro Glo SENSES dance party Thursday, September 15, featuring DJs playing electronic and house music, lightshows, and glowsticking.  Be surrounded by pure vibes and positive energy as you get lost in the music, grub at the food trucks, and enjoy bevvies on Main Street from 7pm to 10pm.
