The next meeting of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is set for Tuesday, December 19, starting at 9:30 a.m.

Among the agenda items: a report from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority and other agencies analyzing the needs of countywide homeless family system (Item 5); and a move to expedite issuing building permits for residents affected by recent wildfires (Item 13).

Supervisors Ridley-Thomas and Kuehl instruct establishing effective governance of juvenile justice funds. (Item 2)
Supervisors Ridley-Thomas and Hahn instruct the Department of Health Services to provide a quarterly report on improving the care experience for patients. (Item 3)
Supervisor Ridley-Thomas directs the Chief Executive Officer, in coordination with Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority and other agencies, to report back analyzing the needs of countywide homeless family system. (Item 5)
Supervisors Hahn and Solis instruct the County Librarian to implement a fine-free library card for students. (Item 9)
Supervisors Barger and Kuehl instructs the Director of Animal Care and Control and County Counsel to report back with a recommendation to limit the keeping of roosters in the unincorporated areas of the County. (Item 12)
Supervisors Barger and Kuehl directs the Chief Executive Officer and other departments to assess the effect of the fires on the County’s infrastructure and expedite building permit issuance for affected residents. (Item 13)
Supervisors Solis and Kuehl instruct the Executive Officer of the Board, County Counsel and Human Resources to assess the feasibility of recommendations to enhance the County Policy of Equity and provide a report on January 16. (Item 14)
Supervisors Solis and Hahn instruct Human Resources, the Chief Executive Officer and Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services to implement the career pathway model of Countywide Bridges Program. (Item 15)
Approval sought for the Child Care Salary/Retention Incentive contract from the California Department of Education in the amount of $3,078,883. (Item 18)
Authorization sought to submit grant applications to the California Strategic Growth Council for the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities program. (Item 19)
Authorization sought to approve the refinements to the Music Center Improvements, execute a funding agreement with Performing Arts Center, and amend and restate the Music Center Operating Lease. (Item 20)
Approval sought for the proposed Hall of Administration Board Audio Control Room Workplace Safety Project, Capital Project No. 87406, with a total budget of $1,500,000. (Item 25)
Authorization sought for the use of $5,498,488 to expand the use of the Electronic Personnel Digitization and Records Management system to all County Departments. (Item 26)
Authorization sought for the Public Health Director to execute a sole source contract with the City of Long Beach for the provision of HIV/STD prevention services at an annual maximum obligation amount of $635,000. (Item 34)
Authorization sought for the Public Health Director to amend a contract with Tarzana Treatment Centers for the provision of HIV/AIDS Substance Abuse Transitional Housing Services. (Item 35)
Approval sought to change the name of the County of Los Angeles Public Library to LA County Library. (Item 38)
Approval sought to award services contracts for as-needed tree trimming and related work within the various right of ways for an annual aggregate program amount of $2,200,000 for a one-year term. (Item 41)
Authorization sought to issue a sole source purchase order to Pratt Whitney Canada for the acquisition of a helicopter engine at an amount not to exceed $665,000. (Item 52)
