Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a 22-year-old Santa Clarita man on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a loaded gun Wednesday night, the station reported Sunday.
Here’s more of the story from the station’s social media:
“Late Wednesday, around 11:45 p.m., a deputy observed a sedan traveling at a high rate of speed and swerving lanes on Valencia Blvd., near the Town Center Mall.
“A traffic stop was initiated, and upon contact with the driver, the deputy smelled a strong odor of alcohol.
“The driver was unable to pass a field sobriety test.
“In the vehicle, deputies discovered an open bottle of Vodka, along with a loaded firearm.
“Deputies arrested the 22-year-old Santa Clarita man on DUI and weapon charges. He was transported and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.”
The man’s identity was not released.
