From the Facebook page of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station:
On Monday, deputies responded to a residence in Newhall regarding a burglary that had occurred. Based on information provided, deputies recognized the suspect as being an individual that they had prior encounters with.
The suspect was described as a male Hispanic adult with long, black hair in a ponytail, and riding a bicycle. Information was shared with patrol units so that they could keep an eye out for him.
Fast forward to Tuesday: one of our deputies was patrolling on Lyons Avenue near Peachland Avenue when she spotted – a male Hispanic, with long black hair in a ponytail, riding a bicycle on the sidewalk.
The deputy looked over at the suspect and the suspect looked back at her, with a surprised look on his face. He immediately started to pedal fast on his bicycle. However, he tried to pedal so fast that he hit a curb and fell off his bicycle and onto the ground.
Deputies arrested the 48-year-old suspect for Reasonable Cause Burglary. He was transported and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
