Close to a dozen people were hurt including four who were taken to the hospital following a four-vehicle pileup in the northbound lanes of Highway 14 near Via Princessa shortly after midnight.
The multi-vehicle traffic collision happened about 15 minutes after midnight into Thursday when one of the vehicles hit another vehicle in the “middle of the freeway,” Vanessa Lozano, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
Firefighters received the call at 20 minutes after midnight, arriving at the crash between Golden Valley Road and Via Princessa, at 00:28 a.m.
“There were no persons trapped but there was a total of 11 people hurt,” Lozano said, noting all but four of the patients suffered minor injuries treated at the scene.
Four people were transferred from the scene for the treatment of their injuries, according to Fire Department Supervisor Ornelas, two with “basic life support” services and two in need of “advanced life support” services.
CHP Officer Josh Greengard reported 10 hours after the crash that there were “
