Dave Caldwell, the play-by-play voice of The Master’s University athletic department for more than a decade and the school’s sports information director for the last two, earned a significant distinction this month.
Caldwell was named the Sports Information Director (SID) of the Year for the Golden State Athletic Conference, an honor voted on by Caldwell’s GSAC colleagues.
“Our entire athletic department appreciates the hard work and dedication that Dave brings to his position each and every day,” said Jared Goldberg, TMU’s men’s volleyball coach. “In many ways, his role goes unnoticed, and yet he continues to serve our department faithfully.”
In May, Caldwell traveled to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with Goldberg’s team, chronicling the Mustangs’ run to the NAIA national championship game. In two years as SID, Caldwell has helped highlight seven individual national championships and numerous team awards. Most of his work takes place behind the scenes.
“The SID position is a thankless job,” said Kelvin Starr, TMU men’s basketball coach. “The bulk of his job is heaping praise on others. So I’ll take this opportunity to heap praise on Dave. He is a tireless worker who exudes humility. He is a team guy who has a can-do attitude. He works long and late hours. Dave is a special employee who excels in his profession.”
Before coming to TMU, Caldwell built a considerable resume in communications, spending time in newspaper, radio, and television journalism. Most recently, he served as a public information officer for the William S. Hart Union High School District from 2015 to 2022. He joined TMU full-time starting in the fall of 2022, continuing to provide play-by-play commentary for basketball and volleyball home games. In all, he has broadcast hundreds of Mustang games over the years.
“Dave has been an asset to TMU Athletics dating all the way back to 2011,” said Steve Waldeck, TMU’s senior associate athletic director. “It has been a pleasure to see him utilize a wider variety of his giftedness and skillset as a full-time employee at TMU. I am also personally thankful for the friendship I have with Dave.”

Hello
I was checking if your organization is a member of the International Trade Council, or the International Chamber of Commerce, or another relevant logistics or international trade related chamber of commerce?
Please let me know.
No, why would we be? We’re an ultra-local TV station. We don’t do international trade.
