Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital will begin offering an “Ask the Nurse” program at the newly-constructed Bella Vida senior center starting on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Following September’s initial event, a Henry Mayo registered nurse will be at Bella Vida on the fourth Monday of each month from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The “Ask the Nurse” service will be offered in a second-floor room at Bella Vida that has been designated for Henry Mayo to offer health services and information.

Bella Vida patrons can ask the nurse general health questions or receive guidance on health-related issues. There is no charge for the service and no appointments are necessary. Free blood pressure checks will also be offered.

“We are pleased to partner with Bella Vida to offer this free service to Santa Clarita seniors,” said Adrienne Thompson, community events coordinator for Henry Mayo. “As time goes on, we look forward to expanding our offerings in our dedicated Bella Vida space. It’s part of our efforts to improve the health of our community.”

Notably, it is believed that this is the first event of its kind in the senior center’s 43-year history.
