Deputies are inviting the public to stop by the 28th Annual Haunted Jailhouse and Community Open House event on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and help them look for ghosts and goblins spotted in and around the station jail. More than 1,000 children and community members from all over the Santa Clarita Valley are expected to attend this year’s event.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, along with the City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Valley Boys and Girls Club, will host the yearly event at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station located at 23740 Magic Mountain Parkway, Santa Clarita. The combined effort of community partnerships provides a safe, fun, and adventurous Halloween outing that many look forward to each year!
The event will include Sheriff’s Department displays, music, food trucks, children’s exotic petting zoo and challenging game booths provided by non-profit organizations and business from throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. Game tickets will vary in cost for the game booths throughout the event. You can even visit the “Douse a Deputy Booth” for a chance at drenching the station commander and other local deputies.
Also, children over age 6 and their parents should not forget to tour the Sheriff’s Haunted Jailhouse decorated by the SCV Boys and Girls Club. A separate Halloween tour area specifically designed by Hart High School ASB for children under age 6, will also be available. A $2 donation is requested at the entry gate which will be donated to the SCV Boys and Girls Club.
