The Valley Industry Association is honored to host retired Army Col. Carl Castro, PhD, Assistant Professor and Director of the Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans and Military Families in the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at the University of Southern California, as the keynote speaker for the January luncheon meeting.
Dr. Castro’s presentation to VIA focuses on the important issue of veterans finding employment in the traditional work community following their military service.
As Chair of a NATO research group on Military Veteran Transitions, Dr. Castro’s current outreach efforts focus on assessing the effects of combat and operations tempo (OPTEMPO) on soldier, family and unit readiness, and evaluating the process of service members’ transition from military to civilian life. He will share some of his groundbreaking work with guests at the VIA luncheon on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
