Small business owners have an opportunity July 17 to gain valuable insight on the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program, which helps small businesses create jobs and foster economic opportunity, during a luncheon hosted by the Valley Industry Association in Valencia.
The VIA monthly luncheon presentation will focus on the 10,000 Small Businesses program offered in conjunction with the Small Business Development Center through the SBDC hub at Long Beach City College. The information will be presented by LBCC Outreach Coordinator Leticia Valadez and LBCC Business Advisor Max Ordonez.
“We’re excited to offer this unique opportunity to local businesses to learn about this outstanding program,” said VIA CEO/President Kathy Norris. “Businesses that are selected to participate in the program will derive a wealth of benefits from it.”
The luncheon is scheduled 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at the Valencia Country Club, 27330 Tourney Road, Valencia, and reservations are required. Those who reserve by July 8 pay just $35, and reservations made July 9-12 cost $45. Non-members and those reserving after July 12 pay $50 if seats are still available. Reservations can be made by calling the VIA office at (661) 294-8088, or through the VIA website: https://www.via.org/Calendar/EventDetails.aspx?id=195
The 10,000 Small Businesses program provides entrepreneurs with access to business education, financial capital and business support services. Business owners selected to participate receive scholarships to cover tuition and program materials.
“Businesses that participate in the program will receive a priceless education and practical knowledge they can put to use immediately,” Norris said. “They will cover extremely valuable subject areas, including contract negotiations, accounting, marketing and management.”
The luncheon’s sponsors include Mellady Direct Marketing, the City of Santa Clarita, Poole & Shaffery, L/B/W Insurance & Financial Services Inc., and SCVTV.
The Valley Industry Association of Santa Clarita represents business interests throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, providing members the opportunity to network and collaborate on a broad range of business issues. More information about VIA is available at www.via.org.
