The Lancaster JetHawks and the Antelope Valley Boys & Girls Club announced a partnership last June to bring a Youth Baseball League to Lancaster in 2017. The league will be for local underprivileged youth, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to play team sports. The participating kids will be outfitted with baseball gear, taught the basics of baseball, and have the chance to play their games at The Hangar, home of the JetHawks, all at no cost to the child.
To support the league, the JetHawks announced the creation of the Lancaster JetHawks Baseball Foundation last June as well, which has already and will continue to host numerous fundraising events throughout the year at The Hangar.
The league will continue with a total of six game dates throughout June and July, and culminate with a celebration at the JetHawks game on Sunday, July 30.
