March is Youth Art Month, and the city of Santa Clarita invites the community to enjoy a celebration of youth art with an array of performances, interactive art activities, art vendors, food trucks and more, at the fourth annual Youth Arts Showcase on Saturday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Centre.
Returning this year is the Santa Clarita Youth Art Gallery, with art pieces by young local artists in the categories of Art on Canvas, Technical Art, and Pen and Paper.
While viewing the gallery, attendees will have the opportunity to cast their vote for the people’s choice award.
An awards ceremony will follow at 1:30 p.m.
Attendees will also be treated to dance and chorus performances on the Performing Arts Stage and will get to watch as youth street painting teams turn The Centre parking lot into a masterpiece, as it is filled with eye-catching chalk art.
The event will also include an Interactive Youth Art area, where young artists can get their creativity flowing by making shadow puppets, building art robots and receiving guided drawing lessons. Local dance and art studios will be on hand to lead movement classes, and interactive art demonstrations for attendees to enjoy as well.
The Centre is located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita 91350.
