The California Department of Transportation will temporarily close various ramps and lanes along state routes and freeways in Los Angeles and Ventura counties for the Amgen Bicycle Tour as it moves through the following areas:

· On Wednesday, May 17, beginning at 11:30 a.m., cyclists coming from SR-192 will travel through SR-150, SR-33, SR-23, SR-126, I-5 and complete their ride in Santa Clarita at Magic Mountain Parkway.

· On Thursday, May 18, beginning at noon, cyclists coming from San Bernardino County will travel through SR-39. North and southbound SR-39 from Ranch Road to East Fork Road will be closed.

· On Saturday, May 20, beginning at 10:30 a.m., cyclists will begin their travel near Mountain High and travel through southbound SR-2 and I-210, completing their ride in the city of Pasadena.

An encroachment permit was issued to the Amgen Tour of California 2017. Changeable message signs will be posted to alert motorists of the closures. Nothing like adding more HEADACHES to our already crowded Streets & Freeways.

  2. Ugh says:

Why are we permitting bicyclists to hinder traffic? That’s all they ever do. They never head to traffic, they roll through stop signs, they ride in groups too large to fit into the bike lanes. Los Angeles is too crowded as it is, we do not need to tie up traffic anymore than it already is. They’re becoming pests, but just because it’s a hobby for the upper middle class they expect the cities to bow into their demands. If you want to shut down streets and tie up traffic, you need to start paying registrations fees on those bikes that costs thousands of dollars then!

Ugh, you are perfectly correct; my sentiments exactly. I never want to go anywhere on those days for fear of running into these idiots. There was one time when I was leaving the back COC parking lot (there was no other exit), and “runners” came barreling down the hill right into my lane. I was forced to slow to a crawl when a person who was probably the “coach” came over to my car and told me to stop before I “killed” somebody. I said, “Why are there people running all over the roadway? The road is for vehicles, not fools running around!” What an outrage!

  3. Seriously. They’re already intrusive!

  4. Diane Lopez says:

    This always annoys me #sorrynotsorry

  5. Ridiculous & Outrageous!!

  6. Jerel Reeves says:

Why does a person driving a car think they are so important? All they ever do is speed, tailgate, talk on their cell phones, cut each other off, pollute, kill each other and innocent people, and the list goes on.

  7. Vance says:

I dont ride a bike and havent for years but really, you crybabies, get over it and get a life

At this time last year, we had no idea what changes and challenges 2025 would have in store. What I did know, and what this year reaffirmed, is that whatever 2025 brought our way, we’d get through it together.
