The County of Los Angeles is proud to recognize National Consumer Protection Week March 4-10. The Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA) is a proud partner of the national event, which is presented yearly by the Federal Trade Commission.
DCBA will participate in and host events throughout the week, highlighted by a Resource Fair in Grand Park on Wednesday, March 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. DCBA will be joined by several government and community consumer protection organizations to answer questions about various issues concerning the latest scams, protecting personal information, renters’ and homeowners’ rights, and much more. The event is free and open to the public.
“The Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs works tirelessly to educate and protect consumers becoming victimized in the marketplace,” said DCBA Director Brian J. Stiger. “If you’ve feel you’ve been a victim of a scam, or have questions about your home, your money, or your business, DCBA is here to answer the call.”
The Resource Fair is scheduled to include representatives from the Federal Trade Commission, Internal Revenue Service, Consumer Product Safety Commission, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, California Department of Business Oversight, Contractors State License Board, California Public Utilities Commission, Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney, Koreatown Immigrant Workers Alliance, and more.
