Newhall School District (NSD) is pleased to announce that Kim Howe has been selected for the position of Director of Student Support Services.
This role provides crucial leadership for many of the Newhall School District’s pivotal programs such as student health, special education, suspension and expulsion, and admission into transitional kindergarten and kindergarten.
“Howe’s experience and passion for continuing to collaborate with NSD teachers, parents, and students, will aid her well in carrying forward our tradition of excellence,” said Newhall School District Superintendent Jeff Pelzel. “We look forward to working alongside her and benefiting from the wealth of knowledge she brings.”
Mrs. Howe arrives at the District after serving as Meadows Elementary School’s principal for three years. Prior to that, she spent 20 years in the Clark County School District, in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she served as both an intermediate and primary classroom teacher, a reading and writing specialist, instructional coach, a project facilitator and coordinator in the student support services division (SSSD), and an elementary school assistant principal. She also designed and led the Instruction and Behavioral Support Department (IBSD), coordinating 30 project facilitators and behavior support specialists who mentored new CCSD Special Education Teachers.
Howe’s experience as an SSSD and IBSD coordinator, which included leading a team of project facilitators who coached elementary, middle, and high school administration and leadership teams, is especially valuable for her new role presiding over the Student Support Services Department.

First, I’d like to congratulate Mrs. Howe on her new position with Newhall School District.
Second, I would like to offer a hint that a teacher gave to me years ago. The principal of a school is your “pal”, so it’s written principal, not principle.
