The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons will present The Midtown Men on Saturday, Nov. 5.
The Midtown Men reunites stars from the original cast of Broadway’s “Jersey Boys,” making them the first vocal group ever formed by the principal cast of a high-profile Broadway show.
After sharing the stage for more than a 1,000 performances, Tony Award winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard, and Tony Award nominee J. Robert Spencer decided to take their signature sound and chemistry to audiences everywhere, bringing their favorite 1960s hits to life.
Now on their sixth national tour, the Midtown Men have no trouble filling performing arts centers and concert halls with fans.
Of the show, The New York Times said, “Sidling up to the microphone, the singers had the air of the Rat Pack, Motown and a nightclub act rolled into one,” while the New York Daily Newsproclaimed, “The Midtown Men sound as crisp as their Rat Pack-inspired suits. Their voices blend together so flawlessly on stage.”
The group’s performances have thrilled audiences of all ages, and their self-titled debut album “The Midtown Men: Sixties Hits” was met with critical acclaim, garnering five-star reviews. Their first radio single, “All Alone On Christmas” was produced by Steven Van Zandt and performed with members of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band.
PAC showgoers can expect a nostalgic and high-energy set list from top-charting 60s bands like The Beatles, The Temptations, The Jackson 5, The Beach Boys, and The Four Seasons. Guest stars at past shows have included The Shirelles’ Shirley Alston Reeves and Gene Corniche, lead guitarist of rock band The Rascals.
Hoff received a Drama Desk award and multiple nominations in addition to a Tony Award for “Jersey Boys”, while Reichard has had sold-out engagements at New York City’s Joe’s Pub, Metropolitan Room and Ars Nova. The Midtown Men also won a Tony Award for Best Show in 2006.
Tickets for The Midtown Men are priced from $55 to $75.
The performance will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, on the PAC main stage.
