The San Fernando Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (A Public Service Sorority) will host the 5th Annual African-American College Planning Conference at Golden Valley High School on Saturday, October 28 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The purpose of this empowering conference is to provide high school students and parents with much-needed information about how to select, prepare, apply and pay for college.
Students and parents are invited to participate in engaging and informative workshops on topics such as funding college, applying for college, the reasons for going to college, the collegiate athlete’s experience, opportunities for STEM majors, everything you wanted to know about historically black colleges and universities and more.
There will also be a college and resources fair following the workshops with alumni and admissions representatives from a variety of local and out-of-state public and private colleges and universities.
The conference is open to all middle school and high school students. The free public event will include a light breakfast and great raffle prizes.
Register here by October 20.
Golden Valley High School is located at 27051 Robert C. Lee Parkway, Santa Clarita 91321.
