Unincorporated SCV residents won’t be able to do this more than 2 days a week.
Residents in the Santa Clarita Valley now have a way to contact the city in the case of a malfunctioning sprinkler.
“There are a few ways that residents can get a hold of the city to report a problem,” said Gail Morgan, City of Santa Clarita Public Information Officer. “First they can log on to www.santa-clarita.com. Then look at the drop down menu titled Santa Clarita 24/7 and from there they can fill out a form and the city will respond.”
Another way to report a problem is to download the free Santa Clarita app which is free from the app store. After downloading the app, users can take a photo of the sprinkler and the city will use GPS to find it and fix it.
Residents can also call the city’s 24 hour hotline at 661-286-4050.
If the broken sprinkler is located in a region that is not within city limits, residents are encouraged to call the Los Angeles Department of Public Works.
“The Department of Public Works serves as a “one-stop” for reports of that kind,” said Andre Herndon, Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation Public Information Officer. “ There a dispatch can either take a report on the issue or refer a caller to the appropriate party.”
The contact number for the Dept. is 800-675-HELP (4357).
Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency in February 2014 after California experienced the driest year on record in 2013.
Water restrictions have been enacted to help conserve water. Reporting broken sprinklers can help keep the city from wasting gallons of water.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Since the writer and Gail forgot to mention the app top download – its called “eService”. Search your iTunes or Google Play for “Santa Clarita” and fins the “eService” app. That is the one that allows you to report sprinklers and many other issues you may find in SCV. Its a great app.
I am so glad this information has been shared as I’ve seen broken sprinklers before, losing lots of water, and never knew who to call.
