LASD Update, Jan. 10, 6 p.m.:

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives detained four juveniles Tuesday afternoon in connection with an early morning robbery that occurred at a Circle K convenience store in the 27700 block of McBean Parkway in Valencia.

Following investigative leads, detectives responded to a Valencia neighborhood at approximately 1:00 p.m. Upon arrival to the residence in question, there was a group of young people congregated in the front yard of the home. As soon as the juveniles saw the sheriff’s patrol vehicles, they scattered, running in different directions.

Responding Sheriff’s units set up a containment of the area which resulted in the detaining of four teenage males. They were taken into custody in conjunction with the robbery of a Valencia convenience store that occurred early Tuesday morning. During the commission of the robbery, a 38-year-old store employee was stabbed multiple times by one of the the suspects. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The teens are facing charges of robbery and attempted murder.

This is an ongoing, active investigation that station detectives are continuing to work on. If you have any additional information about this incident, you may contact Sergeant Dan Peacock, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.

  1. What is going on in our little valley anymore???? ?

  2. We sure live in a safe city don’t we (not)

  3. Tracey May, be careful over there…in your hood.

  4. Harvey says:

Wouldn’t it be great if the Los Angeles Sheriff upheld the Constitution and issued concealed weapon permits?
Most other counties in California issue to Citizens who obtain training, quarterly testing and pass a background check. This poor person just trying to work and provide for his or her family is now a victim of a violent crime and was left with no means of the Constitutionally guaranteed right to protect life and property. Let’s all get out and vote for a pro Second Amendment Sheriff!

  5. Not so much a family friendly environment in Valencia anymore. Went out to dinner at Toppers the other night and there were three men in the parking lot smoking pot along with profanity shooting out of their mouths. Ghetto people everywhere out here now!

  6. Andria Mukai says:

Who are the suspects? Their identities do not deserve to be concealed and they should be paying the cashier’s medical bills.

  7. I love valencia… The reality is crime happens everywhere..no place is excluded from crime. I wouldn’t complain unless u lived in compton , da bronx or any real ghetto

  8. John Chan says:

California changed their laws so these idiots know it’s a slap on the wrist to just walk in and take beer.

  9. TRAVIS says:

Lets just hope they don’t get a slap on the wrist. This is now the second time the circle k has been robbed. Our crime is only going to get worst the bigger our town gets. This Thursday don’t miss out on the meeting to discuss the 21,000 home project. No more building is what this town needs.

  10. Nadiya Littlewarrior says:

When we moved here in 1989 Santa Clarita was one of the top FIVE safest cities in this nation.
Now we are plagued with crime and claiming to be awesome.
Sadly, we are no longer a community looking out and caring for each other. ….
I’m very concerned and disheartened at what I see around me??

  11. dennis says:

Wonder why there is no mention regarding the description of the suspects? Oh, now i remember….
