Ana Borges drives it for the Blue Heat
Santa Clarita Blue Heat forward Ana Borges was selected to the W-League All Western Conference team. She was the only player from the Blue Heat on the all-conference team.
Borges scored six goals and had an assist in 12 games.
The Blue Heat were 4-7-1 and finished in sixth place in the Western Conference standings.
In track and field, West Ranch’s Nathan Bultman was fifth in the intermediate boys hammer at the USA National Junior Olympics in North Carolina.
He threw the hammer 160 feet, 11 ½ inches.
In baseball, the Dodgers rallied and beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 10-9, scoring four runs in the eighth inning to take the lead.
The Dodgers were down five runs, 8-3, in the sixth inning. Adrian Gonzalez hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning to give the Dodgers a one-run lead, 9-8. Andre Ethier added a solo shot to push the lead to 10-8.
The Dodgers have won five games in a row and remain in first place in the National League West standings, a half-game ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Dodgers and Blue Jays wrap up their series tonight in Toronto.
