The City of Santa Clarita has been announced as one of the finalists for The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation’s (LAEDC) 2016 Most Business-Friendly City in Los Angeles County Award. Santa Clarita is joined by Compton, Downey, Lakewood and Long Beach as finalists in the population of 68,000 and over category.
Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County’s third largest City, acts as a supportive team member to local businesses by offering business-minded policies and programs, film incentive programs, site selection assistance and an expedited plan review and permitting processing.
“Being recognized by the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation is an honor for Santa Clarita, as we strive to stay business friendly for our new and existing businesses,” said Mayor Bob Kellar. “The many valuable resources we provide help our business community prosper and offer solutions for success.”
Finalists are selected through independent review based on the demonstration of priority commitment to economic development; excellence in programs and services designed to facilitate business entry, expansion and retention; competitive business tax rates and fee structures; availability of economic incentives; and effective communication with and about business clients.
The winner will be announced at the 21st Annual Eddy Awards Gala on Thursday, November 10. The City of Santa Clarita was a finalist for this award in 2015, 2014, 2007 and 2006. In 2008, the City was named the Most Business Friendly City in Los Angeles County in the population of 50,000 and over category.
