A citizen tip led Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies to arrest a woman for driving under the influence and child endangerment in Valencia last Tuesday, the station reported Sunday.
Here’s more of the story from the station’s social media:
“On Tuesday, March 5, around 7 p.m., a man finished work for the day at a Valencia business near Creekside Road, and was getting ready to go home when he observed something odd.
“He saw a car just driving in circles within a construction area — and it kept driving in circles for about 10 minutes before leaving, nearly hitting a person and running over sandbags.
“The man contacted (the) SCV Sheriff’s (Station) and kept an eye on the direction of the suspect’s vehicle, which was then allegedly driving erratically across lanes.
“Long story short, deputies caught up with the suspect’s vehicle and found that the driver, a 39-year-old Saugus woman, was intoxicated.
“Initial B.A.C. tests indicated that she was driving at nearly 4x the legal limit, and to top it off, she had a 3-year-old passenger.
“Deputies arrested suspect Kimberley Shoemaker on charges of DUI and child endangerment. She was transported and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.”
