Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station have arrested nearly 70 people in a series of crime suppression operations during October, according to station officials.
Here’s the story from the station’s social media:
“KEEPING CRIMINALS IN CHECK! SCV Sheriff’s (Station) deputies conducted a ‘zero tolerance’ 24-hour crime suppression operation last week that netted 39 arrests.
“Over the course of the last month, we’ve conducted at least 7 special operations, and they’ve been very successful, resulting in the arrest of nearly 70 individuals.
“Our mission is to make a huge impact in our community by catching thieves and narcotics offenders. We’re doing our best to protect our residents from being victimized by others, as well as keep our community safe for any visitors.
“Some have asked, ‘What can we do as a community to help?’
“First of all, you are to be commended because you are doing a great job! We would not be as successful in our efforts to thwart crime without the valued partnership we share with our residents and business owners.
“We ask you to remain vigilant, make the #9PMRoutine a habit at all times, never leaving valuables in your car and locking up. Report suspicious activity and keep an eye out for your neighbor when they’re not at home.
“Working together, let’s send a message to anyone that comes to SCV to perpetrate crimes, that we won’t stand for it, and there is zero tolerance in this community.
“Stay safe, and thank you for all that you do to support the deputies. They’re working hard out there, compromising their own safety, to ensure yours.”
