Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a robbery suspect Thursday who allegedly held up a Stevenson Ranch business at knifepoint on Monday, station officials report.

“On Monday, July 22, a robbery occurred at a business on the 25500 block of The Old Road in Stevenson Ranch.
“A male adult suspect allegedly threatened store employees with a large knife during the commission of a robbery.
“Crime Impact Team deputies teamed up with Summer Crime Enforcement Team deputies to find the perpetrator.
“Utilizing surveillance footage from the business, the deputies worked around the clock to identify the suspect.
“On Thursday, July 22, their diligent investigative work paid off.
“The robbery suspect, a transient identified to be Robert Alonso, a 35-year-old male, was captured and taken into custody on felony robbery charges.
“Alonso remains in custody at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail on $50,000 bail.”
