Nominees for the 2017 Man and Woman of the Year have been introduced.

Nominees for 2017 Man and Woman of the Year will be introduced to the local media and to the committee which will select the final winners at the annual Paparazzi Party Wednesday, March 15, at the Sand Canyon home of Wayne and Dianne Crawford.

This year’s nominees for Woman of the Year, and the organizations which nominated them, include: Mary Ann Bennett, SRD Straightening Reins Foundation; Jane Bettencourt-Soto, Forged by Fire Foundation; Ann-Marie Bjorkman, SCV Boys and Girls Club; Marianne Cederlind, Carousel Ranch; Tami Edwards, Rotary Club of SCV; Diane Green, SCV Disaster Coalition, Sandra Ann Hardy, Girl Scouts of Greater LA.

Also Tracy Hauser, SCV Senior Center; Pam Ingram, Soroptimist International of Greater SCV; Janine Jones, American Cancer Society; Laina McFerren, SCV Child & Family Center; Gloria Mercado-Fortine, Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers; Janice Murray, Circle of Hope; Susan Reynolds, Domestic Violence Center and Boy Scouts; Christine Sarro Sexton, Zonta Club of SCV; and Doris Marie Zimmer, College of the Canyons Foundation.

Man of the Year Nominees are Alan Ferdman, Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers; Tom Hough, Boy Scouts of America; Taylor Kellstrom, Circle of Hope and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles; Jonathan Kraut, Domestic Violence Center; Nick Lentini, Child & Family Center and Rotary Club of SCV; Randy Moberg, College of the Canyons Foundation.

Also Bruce Munster, SRD Straightening Reins Foundation; Kirk Nelson, American Red Cross; Todd Stevens, SCV Senior Center; Eric Stroh, Carousel Ranch; Chuck Strong, American Legion Hall; and Jim Ventress, SCV Boys and Girls Club.

The final man and woman of the year winners will be selected from among the nominees and announced at the May 5 Man and Woman of the Year Awards Ceremony at the Valencia Hyatt Regency Hotel. The two winners each receive up to $1000 to donate to the nonprofit(s) of their choice.

Friends and family of the nominees and members of the nominating organizations can purchase tickets online for $125 each at scvmw.org/awards-dinner-reservation-form/

Regular tables are $1,250 and include seating for 10. Premium tables, at $1,500 each, include seating for 10 with the sponsor’s name on the table, plus a full page ad in the program book.

Tickets may also be purchased at the Paparazzi Party on March 15.

Guests are encouraged to make reservations early, since seating is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

The committee also is taking reservations for congratulations advertisements in the program to show appreciation to the candidates “for all they do.” Prices are $500 for a full page ad, $250 for a half page, and $125 for a quarter page. Camera ready ads and notes of appreciation are due by Wednesday, April 15, and may be e-mailed to akovach@insidescv.com.
