[LASD] – New community-based websites have been launched that are dedicated to the communities served by the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station (www.SantaClarita.lasd.org) and Marina del Rey Sheriff’s Station (www.MarinaDelRey.lasd.org) of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The website of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (www.lasd.org) shares information pertaining to the entire jurisdiction of the LASD and content is prepared by Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station policies the city of Santa Clarita and the unincorporated communities of a portion of the Angeles National Forest, as well as Bouquet Canyon, Canyon County, Castaic, Gorman, Hasley Canyon, Newhall, Neenach, Sand Canyon, Santa Clarita, Saugus, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Sleepy Valley, Southern Oaks, Stevenson Ranch, Sunset Point, Tesoro del Valle, Valencia, Val Verde, West Hills and West Ranch.
The new, community-based websites mirror the look and feel of www.lasd.org but they are geographically specific and topic specific to the communities they serve. Over 40 languages are available via Google’s link to an automated foreign language translator.
“The public has requested more geographically-specific and topic-specific information about their Sheriff’s Department,” said Sheriff Lee Baca. “These Sheriff’s station webpages and the many more that will follow enable unit commanders to provide information of greatest interest to local communities. They provide the public what, we believe, the public has long wanted, in the way they want it provided. It is useful and interesting information, presented in an engaging and highly visual way.”
These Santa Clarita and Marina del Rey websites join other recently launched LASD websites including Carson Station (www.Carson.lasd.org), Compton (www.Compton.lasd.org), Century Station (www.Century.lasd.org), Lancaster (www.Lancaster.lasd.org), Lomita (www.Lomita.lasd.org) and Palmdale (www.Palmdale.lasd.org), which serves the unincorporated communities of Acton, Agua Dulce, Leona Valley, Little Rock, Pearblossom and Vasquez Rocks.
Also, the Parks Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department polices 177 county parks, golf courses and special event venues throughout Los Angeles County and has a new website at www.Parks.lasd.org.
