[KHTS] – Valencia High’s Chad Le Duff won his first two matches in the CIF Southern Section Individual Boys Tennis Sectionals at Cate High in Carpinteria. He is the first tennis player from the Santa Clarita Valley to reach the round of 32 in the boys tennis individual sectionals. He won his first match against Gilbert Chung from Campbell Hall in three sets. He won the third set in a tiebreaker, 10-5.
LeDuff won his second match, 6-2, 6-0, over Spencer Ekola of Bishop Diego.
Davey Woodland and Parker McBride from West Ranch, the Foothill League’s doubles champions, won their first match in the sectionals.
They beat a doubles team from Oak Park. But Woodland and McBride lost their next match to a team from Harvard-Westlake.
In high school track and field, six athletes from the Foothill League are competing in the Masters Meet this weekend at Cerritos College.
Brian Zabilski from Saugus is racing in the 3,200. Samantha Ortega from Saugus is in the girls 3,200 race.
Nikaela Harris from Golden Valley is competing in two events, the shot put and the discus. Her teammate, Bianca Tinoco, is in the 800.
Nathan Bultman from West Ranch is in the shot put. Max Cawley from West Ranch is in the triple jump.
All six athletes are trying to qualify for the CIF State Track and Field Meet in Clovis.

In the major leagues, the Dodgers are in St. Louis to start a weekend series against the Cardinals tonight.
The Dodgers are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves. But the Dodgers have won four of their past six games.
Mike Bolsinger starts for the Dodgers against Jon Lackey for the Cardinals.
