Visit with a Vet

The Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative strives to reach out to our veterans, active military and their families, not only to lend support but to help inform the veteran community about resources available to assist in all aspects of their lives.

In keeping with this mission, we will be hosting a Visit With a Vet on Wednesday night, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m., in the Starbucks/Wolf Creek parking lot, located at 27748 W. Mc Bean Parkway.

The evening will include a remembrance of all whose lives were affected by the 9/11 tragedy and will honor our military and first responders. Included will also be a wonderful musical performance by Lindsay Hough and static displays by the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Several organizations that provide services and support to our veterans, active military, and their families will staff tables to provide information about their services and there will be a short presentation about Veteran Benefits by a Los Angeles County Veteran Service officer. The VSO will also answer questions during and after the program.

Starbucks and Wolf Creek Restaurant are co-hosting this event with the Santa Clarita Veteran Services Collaborative. Starbucks’ wait staff for the evening will consist of veterans or military family members who will provide each attendee with a free cup of coffee.

Wolf Creek Restaurant will provide attendees with a special coupon upon initial registration and, when presented to the restaurant staff, a portion the revenue from their meals purchased between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. will be donated to the Collaborative. So please drop by and support these establishments during this special event.
