When ITT Technical Institute closed its doors nationwide earlier this month, 35,000 students were left in limbo at the start of the fall semester. College of the Canyons is looking to help.
In response to the needs of those students, College of the Canyons will hold a special information session for former ITT Tech students who wish to enroll at COC.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 in Canyons Hall, Room 201, located on the college’s Valencia campus.
Students who are unable to attend the information session can view the presentation virtually through WebEx, an on-demand web conferencing platform, at https://canyons.webex.com/join/ocanyons.
“College of the Canyons has the tools and resources former ITT Tech students need to continue working toward their educational goals,” said Kari Soffa, Director of Outreach and School Relations at the college. “We hope this information session helps these students make a seamless transition to our college.”
Representatives from the college’s admissions & records, counseling, and financial aid departments will be on hand to answer questions and help guide attendees through the college’s enrollment process.
Fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, COC will offer various short-term classes that are complementary to ITT training and coursework.
Through credit by exam, students may also obtain college credit for completed ITT Tech courses.
Tuition at COC is $46 per unit.
Students can also schedule an advising appointment by contacting the COC Outreach Office at (661) 362-5891.
