Santa Clarita Valley Habitat for Heroes is hosting the End of Summer Bike Show and Contest at the Newhall American Legion Post 507 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22. The public is invited for an afternoon of live bands, barbeque, bikes and more while supporting Santa Clarita veterans.
SCV Habitat for Heroes is a program of Habitat for Humanity, San Fernando/SCV that builds and restores homes for veterans returning to the Santa Clarita Valley after serving in the military. Its critical home repair/disability modification program assists veteran families who suffer from service-related disabilities and need modifications in their home to make them safe and comfortable to live in.
In development is a SCV Habitat for Heroes Enriched Neighborhood that will include over 85 new homes and a myriad of services to assist veteran families in becoming self sufficient to empower future advancement.
Bring out the whole family for an exciting event to raise funds to refurbish and build homes for local heroes. Check out popular vendors like Scentsy flameless candles and Cookie Lee jewelry and enjoy fun for the whole family, including raffles, silent auctions, and live performances by local bands Blue Sky and Traxx.
Register your bike in the contest for a chance to win in several categories including Best Metric Motorcycle, Best Standard, Best Chopper, Best Special Construction and, of course, Best in Show. Visit Hometownstation.com or stop by the American Legion at 24527 Spruce Street in Newhall to register your bike in the contest.
Join the “End of Summer Bike Contest” event on Facebook and come out on Sept. 22 with family and friends to benefit SCV veterans. For further information, call 818-884-8808.
