Single Mothers Outreach is offering two opportunities in January for all single parents in the Santa Clarita Valley to preview the organization’s highly successful Financial Peace University program.
Parents can check it out Jan. 21 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Friday, Jan. 27, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Single Mothers Outreach.
Winter Session classes start Saturday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon, and run through May 19.
Interested single parents are invited to learn more about the class everyone is talking about. Over 50 single parents have taken the class through SMO and graduates save an average of $1,380 and pay off $1,421 in debt in 13 weeks.
The program is made up of 13 life-changing lessons taught by nationally syndicated radio and talk show host Dave Ramsey. All lessons are taught by Dave in a fun and entertaining way. After each lesson the group meets to help each other plan budgets, discuss successes and temptations, and support each other in their journey to beat debt and build wealth.
This class is for parents who want to:
* learn practical steps that can be implemented immediately on how to get out of debt and stay out; and
* learn practical steps to teach children the value of money, and to be financially responsible, no matter their age.
Complimentary child care is provided and children go through the companion program for children, Financial Peace Junior, during the session.
Equally valuable is the opportunity to meet other parents with whom you can relate and share your struggles and victories.
This program is open to all Santa Clarita single parents, regardless of affiliation with Single Mothers Outreach, which is located at 26881 Ruether Ave. Call 661-288-0117 for information.
