Paul Strickland
Paul Strickland announced the endorsement of three local officials in his campaign to be elected to the 38th California Assembly District Thursday.
Suzan Solomon, Newhall School District Governing Board Member, Flo Lawrence, Castaic Town Council Vice President and Dr. Michael Miller, City of Santa Clarita Arts Commission immediate past Chairman released the following statements in support of Strickland.
“I’ve spent a long time in Sacramento working on legislative and educational issues, I know that Sacramento needs real leadership,” said Suzan Solomon, Newhall School District trustee.
“We need to elect people who do not make decisions based on pure politics, but in the common interest. And that leader for the 38th District is Paul Strickland. I have enjoyed working with Paul over the years, and I know him to be a person who will rise above partisan politics to do what is best for the people of California’s 38th Assembly District.”
“Paul Strickland has consistently given outstanding service to the community as an Arts Commissioner (serving as founding Vice Chair of the Commission from 2009 – present), as Board Member and Past President of the William S. Hart District School Board, and in many other capacities,” said Dr. Millar.
“His focus is always on the good of the entire community, and much of his work is accomplished behind the scenes. Paul is persuasive in public and private settings, as evidenced by his recent eloquent public participation speech to City Council regarding public art for the Main Street Roundabout in downtown Newhall. Paul Strickland is a man of substance, intelligence, and high integrity.
Strickland believes his ability to bring people together to resolve local issues that achieve the common good distinguishes him from those who are focused strictly on the maintenance of political posturing.”
Paul Strickland is a 28-year resident of the Santa Clarita Valley, where he and his wife Robin have raised their three children.
“I am proud of the widespread support of my campaign for 38th Assembly,” Strickland said.
“Stalemated California politics has created an era of legislation by initiatives. It is time to rescind antiquated, restrictive laws that has handcuff local school districts, small businesses, and municipalities. I will promote local control over resource allocations. While it is important that California legislation have deep regard for the health and safety of its citizens, it is equally important that those mandated laws be fully funded by the state.”
