A citizen’s phone call of a suspicious vehicle in their Canyon Country neighborhood led to the arrest of a man and a woman on charges of auto theft and possession of narcotics Tuesday morning.

Here’s more of the story from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s social media:

“Deputies responded to a neighborhood near Whites Canyon and Plum Canyon on Tuesday morning after a call came in reporting suspicious activity.

“After the caller provided the license plate number, it was determined to be a stolen vehicle.

“When deputies arrived, the car had taken off, but they were able to locate it in the surrounding area.

“The vehicle’s occupants, one adult male and one adult female, were detained and arrested by deputies on grand theft auto charges.

“They also were found to be in possession of heroin and methamphetamine.

“The couple was transported and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.”
