For the past several months, Trinity Classical Academy’s fifth grade class has been deep in study of the 13 British Colonies, the American Revolution and the establishment of the United States all in preparation for their annual Founding Fathers of The United States of America Museum happening this Friday, April 29 from 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Each of the 48 students were assigned a specific Founding Father with the direction to transform into this character by the use of costumes and props.
At the museum, spectators will go back in time to the year 1776 and witness the students as their Founding Father who will then recite a memorized monologue describing who they are, their accomplishments and how they helped structure the American democracy and ultimately shape our world.
For their monologue, students will also have the use of a descriptive visual timeline they have created that highlights their character’s milestones.
“The Founding Fathers of The United States of America Museum is the culmination of our fifth grade class’s study of the significance of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution,” said Kevin Seitz, grammar school principal at Trinity Classical Academy. “When we have students study a significant historical time period, we find that having them transform into a character and ultimately interact as that person, gives them a unique historical perspective and a more comprehensive learning experience.”
