Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a Valencia woman suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving early Wednesday morning.
Here’s the story from the station’s social media:
“(On) Wednesday, Dec. 19, after midnight, deputies were patrolling Newhall when they spotted a(n) SUV driving at a high rate of speed through a shopping center parking lot on the 23400 block of Lyons Avenue.
“Deputies followed the vehicle from Orchard Village Road to McBean Parkway. The vehicle was reportedly going around 100 mph and straddling lanes.
“Deputies conducted a traffic stop at McBean Parkway and Arroyo Park Drive. The driver, a 29-year-old Valencia woman, was determined to be allegedly driving at twice the legal limit of alcohol.
“Deputies arrested the woman on charges of DUI and reckless driving.
“If you drive drunk or high, you will get a DUI. Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station reminds drivers it’s deadly, dangerous and illegal to drive under the influence of illegal drugs, alcohol and some prescription drugs.
Additional Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies have been scheduled to be out on the road this holiday season specifically to keep an eye out for impaired drivers.”
