Students in Valencia DECA/FBLA were delighted Tuesday, when it was revealed that local company WesLar Inc. had donated a generous $1000 to the program.
Students in the program were ecstatic with this news, as the donation will go towards allaying the cost of their next business conference, the Calfiornia DECA State Career Development Conference, March 3-6 in San Diego.
Valencia DECA/FBLA is a high school business education program at Valencia High School, located just a few miles from WesLar. WesLar is a construction company located in Santa Clarita that specializes in the framing of residential buildings and light commercial buildings. The company, founded over twenty years ago, is headed by Wes Toy and Larry Kern, after which the company is named.
The donation provided by WesLar is very significant and will benefit the education of over 30 students in Valencia DECA/FBLA. With the cost of attending the State Conference reduced, students who found paying for the conference difficult will now be able to attend with ease.
Thanks to the contribution from WesLar, several students will now be able to receive a comprehensive business education, increasing the likelihood that they will graduate high school and attend college.
Valencia DECA/FBLA deeply thanks WesLar for their contribution to furthering the business education of high school students in their local community.
