[News Release] – Zonta Club of SCV continues its 2013-14 season of LifeForward workshops on Saturday, April 26, continuing its program on women’s health issues, with a last-minute change in presenters. The topic will be covered by a trio of medical professionals: Cecelia Hann, M.D.; Kristin Jordan, PA-C; and Dr. Roger De Sesa, D.C., C.C.W.P.

Dr. Hann will discuss differences in women’s physiology, live changes, and the importance of understanding your body. Dr. De Sesa offers five tips to beat stress, ways to stay fit while you sit, and a massage demonstration. Jordan will talk about the importance of sleep and how it affects a person’s mood, concentration and sense of wellbeing. She’ll also offer tips for getting a good night’s rest. Participants will be able to register for a free massage drawing, courtesy of Dr. De Sesa.

The workshop will be held at the Savia Community Center, 23780 Newhall Ave., Newhall. The program runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and women who arrive by the 10 a.m. start time are entered in a drawing for a free gift certificate. Free childcare is available for women who register in advance at (661) 288-0117. Spanish translation also can be provided.

Future LifeForward workshops for 2014 include “Divorce and Family Law Issues,” May 17; and “Sources of Child Support,” June 21.

Zonta offers the free LifeForward workshops on a monthly basis, in cooperation with Single Mothers Outreach, Domestic Violence Center, Habitat for Humanity and Los Angeles County Department of Child & Family Services. Workshops are organized by topics in which women express interest.
