Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit

 

There were 7 Part-1 crimes reported in Zone 2 this past week. There were two reported burglaries of storage containers, one on Harrison Way and one on Castaic Road. Copper plumbing fittings, gardening supplies and metal were targeted. There were three reported thefts from vehicles, two on Ridge Route Road and one on Greenhill Drive. Gasoline, an iPad and personal items were targeted. Castaic Inn reported that a set of bed linens were stolen from a customer’s room. A 2004 Airstream trailer was stolen off of Avenue Paine and recovered the next day in Castaic.

Notable Arrest: Unit 66, assigned to patrol the Castaic area, arrested a 22 year-old Castaic resident in the Mobil Gas Station bathroom on The Old Road. The man was in possession of heroin and suspected to be under the influence.

Please remember to close your garage doors, and never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle. Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity. If you see any suspicious activity, call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
