logo_caltransThe California Department of Transportation will close portions of Antelope Valley Freeway (SR-14) from Golden State Freeway (I-5) to Sand Canyon Road as part of a pavement rehabilitation project.  Closures are as follows and subject to change:

 

Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24

Northbound SR-14

  • 7 p.m. to 3 p.m.    – Up to four lanes between I-5 and Sand Canyon Rd.
  • 6 p.m. to 3 p.m.    – On- and off- ramps CLOSED between Sierra Highway and Sand Canyon Rd.
  • 7 p.m. to 2 p.m.    – Connector from northbound I-5 CLOSED

 

Southbound SR-14

  • 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.       – Up to four lanes between Sand Canyon Rd and I-5
  • 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.       – On- and off- ramps CLOSED between Sand Canyon Rd. and Sierra Highway
  • 11 p.m. to 4 p.m.  – Connector to southbound I-5 CLOSED

 

Friday, July 24, through Saturday, July 25

Northbound SR-14

  • 7 p.m. to 7 p.m.       – Up to four lanes between I-5 and Sand Canyon Rd.
  • 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.    – On- and off- ramps CLOSED between Sierra Highway and Sand Canyon Rd.
  • 7 p.m. to 2 p.m.    – Connector from northbound I-5 CLOSED

 

Southbound SR-14

  • 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.     – Up to four lanes between Sand Canyon Rd and I-5
  • 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.     – On- and off- ramps CLOSED between Sand Canyon Rd and Sierra Highway
  • 11 p.m. to 4 p.m.   – Connector to southbound I-5 CLOSED

 

This project may require FULL Freeway closures. Advance notices will be provided.

 

Detours will be posted. New pavement will improve mobility and enhance safety for motorists.  J McLoughlin Engineering Co. is the contractor on this $6 million project which is expected to complete in the summer of 2016.

 

Caltrans advises motorists to please “Be Work Zone Alert.”
