Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the stabbing death of a woman. The incident occurred Saturday, April 8, 2017, on the 18700 block of Vista Del Canon, Santa Clarita.
Detectives learned that Santa Clarita Station received a call, at approximately 5:46 p.m., from a female adult who was located in the Burbank area. She said she was in the presence of her daughter’s live-in girlfriend, the suspect. The suspect told her that she was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim at their residence in Santa Clarita. During the course of the verbal altercation she assaulted the victim.
Santa Clarita deputies responded to the 18700 block of Vista Del Canon, Santa Clarita, where forced entry was necessary to gain access. Deputies discovered a female adult, who had sustained at least one stab wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire.
Local law enforcement was advised and responded to the mothers residence and detained the suspect.
The suspect was transported to Santa Clarita Station, where she is pending an interview with homicide detectives.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
