This week’s SCVTV/California Superstores Outstanding Student of the Week is Binisha Kanjaria from West Ranch High School. Binisha carries a 4.67 GPA and scored 1750 on the SAT. And when it comes to school, she gets pleasure out of her success.
“I feel really good when I get good grades,” Binisha said. “That’s the thing I’m good at. So I feel that if I do well it just gives me so much happiness.”
There are four UC school Binisha has her eye on for college, plus a couple out of state in Vanderbilt and Emory. But it’s Vandy she wants to attend the most.
“I like the program there and it’s like a really good school too,” she said. “My sister is there too and so that’s another driving force. It’s just a really good school and I really like the environment.”
Binisha’s mother was a doctor in her native India, and that has had a big impact on her desire to follow her mother into medicine. And while she wants to be a doctor, she has a specific purpose with her hoped-for profession – a psychiatrist.
“I think it’s an interesting field,” Binisha said. “I think the human mind… just sort of intrigues me. I want to help patients and I want to help their families more importantly. That’s the driving force for me. More than helping the patients I know that I will be able to help more than one person when I’m helping )one) patient.”
Congratulations to Binisha Kanjaria of West Ranch, the SCVTV/California Superstores Outstanding Student of the Week.
