One person’s broken smart phone can be another person’s contribution to provide a healthful meal for a hungry family.

Alan Campos, owner of SCV iRepair, found that he could repair so-called “unfixable” iPhones, iPads and iPods. This skill has translated into a business venture that keeps the College of the Canyons student very busy. By keeping his costs low, Campos is able to provide repairs at a fraction of the cost of retail stores and manufacturers.
Now, Campos is sharing his good fortune with the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry. For each repair service, Campos will donate $5 to the Food Pantry. As a student looking to fulfill community service hours, Campos volunteered at the Pantry.
“When I started my business, I knew I also wanted to share and help my community,” Campos said.
“There are lots of nonprofits in Santa Clarita, but I saw firsthand how the Food Pantry helps families. I also enjoyed working with everyone when I volunteered there for community service hours.”
Campos has used his ingenuity to create a successful business while giving back to his community. Each week, Campos repairs more than 30 iPhones, iPads and iPods, and attends classes at College of the Canyons. He also is a member of the Latino Chamber of Commerce and the Valley Industrial Association.
His work is garnering rave reviews, too.

“Alan fixed my daughter’s iPhone after she dropped it,” says Maria Holloway.
“With in a few days my daughter phone was back to its original state. Alan is a wonderful person. He is a college student who owns a successful business and, much to my surprise, contributes to our Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry. There are many local businesses that don’t see the importance of the services provided by the SCV Food Pantry.”
So, if your iPhone seems beyond repair, call Alan. You’ll save yourself a lot of trouble, and you’ll help provide much-needed food for local families. It’s a win win for everyone.
