stnlogoBroadcast television students from the Santa Clarita Valley are among the best in the U.S., and they proved it again this week when they learned they’d won multiple awards in an annual, nationwide competition.

Three Santa Clarita Valley schools won awards and a fourth earned an honorable mention in the annual Student Television Network’s 2012 Fall Nationals competition.

Awards recognize excellence in scholastic broadcast television and honor the special skills and unique talents of broadcasting and film students from across the nation. Entries in the various categories were judged by professionals from the film and television industry.

This year’s local winners are:

 

HIGH SCHOOL – SCHOOL PROMO

First Place: Saugus High School, “The Home of Champions” by Cameron Quon and Justin Ramer.

Second Place: West Ranch High School, by Stevie Urbanovich.

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL – SCHOOL PROMO

First Place: Castaic Middle School.

 

HIGH SCHOOL – MOVIE TRAILER

Second Place: Saugus High School, “All for Amy” by Max McLaughlin and Brad Triana.

 

HIGH SCHOOL – SHOW OPENING

Honorable Mention: West Ranch High School, “West Ranch Introduction” by Christina Carillo.
