On Sunday night, SCVTV “House Blend” alum Kai Clark joins an all-star lineup at the Hotel Café on Cahuenga in Hollywood. They’re celebrating what would have been the 70th birthday of Kai’s famous father, Gene Clark. Gene was a gifted singer and songwriter, a founding member of The Byrds, and a huge inspiration to many other artists. It’s also an album release party – Gene’s long out of print 1977 classic “Two Sides to Every Story” has just been reissued by High Moon Records. Joining Kai Clark are Gene’s former duet partner Carla Olson, plus The Jangle Brothers, the Psychedelic Cowboys and half a dozen more. The show starts at 6; visit the “Gene Clark 70th Birthday Tribute” event page on Facebook for more details.
And speaking of “House Blend,” don’t miss an all-new special edition featuring world-famous local blues superstars Teresa James & The Rhythm Tramps premiering Saturday at 10 p.m. on SCVTV and streaming at SCVTV.com. The band throws down four funky blues, including a couple previews from their next album, due out in 2015.
